Citizen Feedback
One of the most important things Vision 2012 needs is reliable and extensive citizen feedback. Residents must tell us what they understand when they say that there is something special about the “look and feel of Melbourne Village”? What are all the different pieces of that? What is important or not important about the bulk, size, and scope of houses and other buildings here? How much does the appearance of low density , architectural diversity, and low visual impact of the houses contribute to the “look and feel” of the Village? How important are things like the existing police presence; traffic patterns and speed limits; or parklands and residential trees, greenery and habitat? What about the vital role that AHF plays? How much do we value our tranquility, or our very small scale? What, in your opinion, characterizes the “quality of life” here? What is it that we want to preserve, anyway? What other stuff do we maybe want to let change or just evolve? Help us answer these questions!
We welcome Village residents at any and all of our Committee and Subcommittee meetings and at our Public Workshops, which will always be posted on the Town Bulletin Board at the corner of Savannah Drive and Dayton Boulevard. We also welcome and would like to encourage letters or computer emails addressed to any of us expressing your views on these questions.
You will probably be contacted directly by a Vision 2012 representative coming door to door, with a brochure explaining briefly what we are doing. They will answer questions, and they will ask you a few questions, and for some information. You can help by cooperating with them. Thank you!
In the Fall, probably mid-to-late September, there will also be a general Survey available either online or in hardcopy to each and every resident, so that we can benefit from every citizen’s feedback before we formulate proposed new policies and new Town Code for the Town Commission.
